Description

Soooo I wasn't planning on uploading this ever but Redbird requested to see more of this character, so I dug up an older portrait I made while from earlier in the story-making proccess.
This is the same horse from this piece:

This is Masakali. He's not really my character, though I did contribute to his story a bit. My friend Natasha and I came up with this crazy story about genetically engineered racehorses in a Middle Eastern racing mafia several years ago. It's the same plot and setting as Mahshah's story, but these two characters have their own separate sides to it and they only interact directly a few times.
I recommend reading Mahshah's character sheet first if you don't know what I'm talking about:

So like Mahshah, Masakali is another product of this project that started when a sheik started a genetic breeding program in Dubai to formulate the ultimate racehorse. The failures of the test had a 10 year lifespan limit and were sold all over the world as common stable nags. The more successful test results were entered into several eastern racing circuits and usually won their owners ridiculous amounts of money, which were in turn invested back into the breeding project or used to rig other races and win even more off of betting. Naturally there was a lot of money and corruption involved, and the actual horses underwent many types of experimental drug therapies and abuse.
Unlike Mahshah, Masakali ended up being so strong and fast that the scientists predicted that he'd live past his 10 year limit. Instead of being dropped in an open auction like Mahshah to await his doom, Masakali as sold to a millionaire businessman in India named Aditya Khan who gave him to his socialite daughter Ambar as a 21st birthday gift.
I kind of ended my contribution to the story here and let Natasha finish it off, but I'm pretty sure what happens is that Ambar hires a young South African jockey named Ethan to ride Masakali in steeplechasing and cross country races in Kashmir, and together they soon learn of Masakali's mysterious powers and origin and then try to contact owners of other horses form the project all over the world.
Masakali's and Mahshah's stories overlap when they're both shipped as yearlings away from the laboratory in Dubai to their future owners....they were shipped on the same boat with many other genetic experiments. Otherwise the two stories continue separately in the same plot line and setting until eventually Ambar and Ethan get ahold of Rolfe in New York and discover Mahshah.

Masakali is a Parsi/Indian name that means "pure, innocent" and is associated with a pure white dove. So logically it was the perfect name for a pure black horse. :bucktooth:

ANYWAYS. So that's the huge crazy story behind this horse.
Also, merry early christmas everyone. :meow:
