Elementary by Ospreyghost13 Elementary by Ospreyghost13

I like Elementary more than Sherlock. Like, by a lot. Sure I enjoyed Sherlock while watching it, but afterwards I never developed the fangirl mania that seems to affect most Sherlock fans. Also, I don't find Benedict Cumberbatch attractive. :ohnoes: But that aside, I think Elementary is just a better show in general. Even though the actual mysteries are far more gory (THERE'S SO MUCH BLOOD) the show itself is far lighter and has a good balance of emotions and mystery. The chemistry between Sherlock and Joan is fantastic, and the whole setup is really believable and kind of urban city chic. It really captures the essence of New York really well and the Elementary Sherlock is much more believable, vulnerable, and generally likable. He's not overly obnoxious or selfish, but he still has quirks. The more human side of his character is brought out by Lucy Liu's female Watson, who is a BAMF because she's both brilliant and sophisticated and keeps the show in line. I just really, really like this show so far.
And also, Lucy Liu's wardrobe is like perfect I wish I was Joan Watson.
And also, Jonny Lee Miller wears the most hilarious hipster clothes I love it.
And their brownstone is gorgeous I want to live there.
And Detective Bell is fantastic.
And omg serial killers I have a soft spot for serial killer mysteries.

Anyways this Saturday my parents left me home alone and I literally just watched every single episode on On Demand and I just got like 3 hours of sleep so maybe that's why I'm typing so much and have so many feelings about this right now but ajslfjsa; sorry for the spam. :P

Glad to see that I´m not the only person, who feels that way.
It´s great to see how Joan´s and Sherlock´s relationship evolves over season 1, while both of them have their moments of ups and downs.
Also it avoids the annoying "Pair up the leads" cliche.
Yes, BBC´s Sherlock is fun, but let´s be honest: Cumberbatch!Sherlock is an insufferable Gary Stue without any hidden depths, while Freeman!John  is his actors usual fluffy Hobbit-role, a bumbling sidekick but not a real partner for Sherlock.

While I think Sherlock is a superior show, I do enjoy the hell out of this series. I like the risks and changes they make and that the characters grow instead of reseting at the beginning of every episode. Aside from the die hard purists I really think Sherlock fans would enjoy this show as long as they can appreciate it as a separate entity. And I find Johnny Lee Miller AND Benedict Cumberbatch attractive....anyone see the trailer for the National Theater's production of Frankenstein?…

I had to be peeled off of the floor

The clothes on the show are my favourite part, I think. This is adorable.

I agree with you absolutely, esp the Cumberbatch isn't attractive. I find his looks so repulsive I cringe everytime I trip upon a picture of him.. ACK Miller and Liu are brilliant, I love the fact they aren't trying to shove canon stories into the modern world (doesn't really work) but still retain characters and Holmesian references.

I think Sherlock and Joan have great chemistry. They're not awkward or clingy or anything. It's one of my favorite parts of the show. :)
