UNPOPULAR OPINION ALERT.
I like Elementary more than Sherlock. Like, by a lot. Sure I enjoyed Sherlock while watching it, but afterwards I never developed the fangirl mania that seems to affect most Sherlock fans. Also, I don't find Benedict Cumberbatch attractive
But that aside, I think Elementary is just a better show in general. Even though the actual mysteries are far more gory (THERE'S SO MUCH BLOOD) the show itself is far lighter and has a good balance of emotions and mystery. The chemistry between Sherlock and Joan is fantastic, and the whole setup is really believable and kind of urban city chic. It really captures the essence of New York really well and the Elementary Sherlock is much more believable, vulnerable, and generally likable. He's not overly obnoxious or selfish, but he still has quirks. The more human side of his character is brought out by Lucy Liu's female Watson, who is a BAMF because she's both brilliant and sophisticated and keeps the show in line. I just really, really like this show so far.
And also, Lucy Liu's wardrobe is like perfect I wish I was Joan Watson.
And also, Jonny Lee Miller wears the most hilarious hipster clothes I love it.
And their brownstone is gorgeous I want to live there.
And Detective Bell is fantastic.
And omg serial killers I have a soft spot for serial killer mysteries.
Anyways this Saturday my parents left me home alone and I literally just watched every single episode on On Demand and I just got like 3 hours of sleep so maybe that's why I'm typing so much and have so many feelings about this right now but ajslfjsa; sorry for the spam. Follow me: [link]
